Village Plaza

Pure Architects collaborated with a developer on this re-imagining of a blighted area into a walkable neighborhood with townhomes, apartments, retail spaces, and parks.

This project was a planning effort to reimagine the existing Village Plaza property in Dearborn, MI.  Initial concepts involved the replacement of a blighted property with a mixed-use development and infrastructure improvements to create a more walkable neighborhood.
The completed property would include 162 living units, including 34 townhomes, traditional apartments, and walk-ups, as well as 25,000 sf of retail, and a hotel. The property is adjacent to the Lower Rouge River, and our design included riverbank improvements as well as the addition of playgrounds, park amenities, street-level parking, and the incorporation of pedestrian areas.
