City of Grand Rapids Fire Department Training Center
Pure is partnering with Williams Architects and the City of Grand Rapids on a new Fire Department training facility to provide realistic emergency preparedness training.
The new $46 million Training Center will consolidate training and fire operations onto one campus. The 97,875 sf facility will house live fire training, a maintenance shop, emergency operations center, classrooms, and a five-story burn building.
In addition to consolidating operations, the Training Center will expand training programs and create a pipeline for new talent and training partnerships. Supported by grants as well as local, state, and federal funding, the Training Center is a response to past and anticipated growth within the City of Grand Rapids.
The project broke ground in August 2025, and is slated for a spring 2027 completion.
