Mercantile Bank Operations Center

Pure Architects converted a vacant office building into a modern operations center for Mercantile Bank.

This 15,000 sf building houses standard office space, a callcenter, and bankers who communicate with customers remotely via “live ATMs.” The space houses multiple conference rooms, office suites, open office,hoteling space, and an employee lounge.

Our design for this project was driven by Mercantile Bank’s goals of improving the employee experience and providing more robust digital banking services to their customers.

We incorporated feedback from bank staff into the design of their kitchen/break room, and intentionally increased daylighting and an improved HVAC system for employee comfort.

The variety of services offered at this location resulted in varying confidentiality needs. We utilized rolling glass doors with frosted glass to provide both privacy and daylighting. The interior design elements include visual interest through acoustic walls, wall art that highlights local scenery, and subtle corporate branding.
