The Diatribe New Headquarters
A new headquarters with venue space, residential units, and commercial tenants for an arts-focused nonprofit that serves Grand Rapids youth.
The Diatribe is a group of non-traditional artists that facilitates after school programs, assemblies, and creative writing workshops rooted in poetry. They empower students to heal their trauma and find their voice related to environmental and social justice issues they face daily.
Pure Architects has been engaged to connect the facility to the Diatribe's mission through collaborative and inclusive spaces.
The building's main floor will house the Diatribe's headquarters and four commercial tenants from the neighborhood, including a coffee shop, print shop, recording studio, and photo studio. The basement will house a spoken word venue for students and the community to perform and the second level will have eight artist-residences to connect the Diatribe's mission from childhood to adulthood. We are thankful to be part of this important work.
