Apex Controls

The Apex Controls office in Hudsonville, Michigan is designed to be a space that promotes collaboration and employee betterment — transforming the traditional manufacturing work environment into one that elicits joy.

Pure Architects’ design prioritized the end user. We were asked by our client to design a space that centers on their employees and assists in employee retention. Apex Controls representatives and staff were engaged in the pre-design process to ensure the desired project outcome — an updated physical space that would enhance and modernize the company’s brand and culture.
“Apex puts people in the foreground of their decisions about space. They measured the project's success on its ability to transform company culture and improve team collaboration.”

Transforming the space
Apex Controls’ original space lacked access to daylight. Its divided design made collaboration and community creation difficult. Pure Architects worked with leadership to ensure the new space design remedied those issues and fostered employee engagement.
The materials and finishes we used reflect Apex and its brand - paying homage to the company’s work and purpose.
