The Role

The Interior Designer generates design concepts for interior focused projects at various scales and complexities, including programming, planning space, furniture, and equipment, floor, ceiling, finish, and furniture plans, details, and schedules. This role is responsible for supporting team members through all phases of design and construction administration. The Interior Designer continues to develop new or improved design techniques and benchmarks best practices to create innovative interior experiences at Pure Architects.

Position Accountabilities:

• Works with the project team to determine project timeline, goals, and requirements for their space design.
• Effectively manages time and project costs to meet deadlines with accuracy and quality.
• Collaborates with Architects, Designers, Engineers, and Contractors to further understand how interior space should function, appear, and be furnished to deliver an excellent interior experience.
• Analyzes brand essence and intended experiences to determine interior finish implementation, assisting in materials selection, installation, and maintenance.
• Works with the project team and clients to select materials, furniture, furnishings, and other equipment.
• Participates in ordering, obtaining, and maintaining our interior finish library, including furniture items.
• Ensures client satisfaction throughout the design and construction process by documenting meeting minutes and initiating experience surveys.
• Works with Contractors, Suppliers, Manufacturers, and Dealers to secure finishes and furniture.
• Creatively drafts written Narratives with clarity and expertise.
• Prepares sketches or other visual aids to demonstrate preliminary designs to clients.
• Uses software to create illustrative renderings of proposed design concepts.
• Uses design applications to prepare and illustrate final plans.
• Creates and contributes to presentations to the team and clients including rendering of materials needed for each project.
• Documents interior finishes and details in construction documents.
• Supports product specification and specification writing.
• Collaborates with the project team, gives and welcomes feedback to build trust and promote clear and transparent communication.
• Maintains current knowledge of trends, materials, techniques, and other developments in interior design.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s of Interior Design required
• Actively working toward or achieved NCIDQ certification
• LEED, WELL, Fitwell, LFA Accreditation a plus
• Two to Eight years of experience working in a Professional Interior Design capacity
• Experience using Autodesk Revit, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam

Required Knowledge, Skills + Abilities

• Comprehensive knowledge of interior finishes, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
• Experience with furniture design and furniture selection is preferred but not required.
• Comprehensive knowledge of building, ADA, and energy codes related to interior design and finishes.
• Strong design skills, understanding of user experience in space, and craft of interior finishes.
• Research skills, an ability to critically think through problems.
• Great communication skills, ability to communicate verbally, graphically, and in writing.
• High emotional intelligence, project management skills, and leadership abilities.
• Must be able to distinguish between colors.
